Blue Bridge Project

In 2021 we started the Blue Bridge Project out of the need to “Warm our Community”. It was our pilot displaced population project to provide winter coats, hats, gloves by hanging them along the “Blue walking Bridge” in downtown Anderson, no questions asked, no paperwork required. At least that is what it was intended for, however we quickly realized that moms, dads, kids, aunts, uncles, grandparents, were coming to find coats for themselves or kids in their families.

The Blue Bridge Project is a familiar community event, with dozens of community members coming to the bridge to help hang coats and to find the perfect coat for a child. TANL accepts coat donations all year long. Coats are to be clean and zippers working with no rips or tears. Since the beginning in January 2021 we along with so many community members have donated, hung and given away 2731 coats and countless hugs. We do this in October so be sure to watch our facebook page and website for details. If you or someone you know may need a coat, hat/gloves please reach out to us.
